Landscaping (Lee)

Project Brief:

Extend living area in the garden and create a space that was simple on the eye and low to maintain. A planting scheme that would give colour and texture throughout the year and provide privacy from near neighbours.

This was a great one.

With a large drop from the patio doors to the garden, we would have to build a step, the question was where - with a great deal of trust from the clients, we came up with a design that was sympathetic to the layout of the garden and maximised the space they could use for both entertaining and planting.

Agreed, we completely cleared the garden and from this blank canvas built an angled deck in composite, stepping stone path in shot blast sandstone, a huge retained planting space and installed a new lawn.

A new shed, pained fences and then a planting scheme that included an ornamental silver birth tree, dogwood, grasses, succession bulb planting and a wild meadow section, which will take hold in spring.

In the front garden the job was a lot smaller so we carried the theme through with shot blasted stone for the path, step and stone retainer to keep in the shingle driveway.
